Install MostGrade

For invited beta testers. The installer is not public yet.

Requirements

Apple Silicon Mac · DaVinci Resolve 21 Studio

  • macOS: the macOS version DaVinci Resolve 21 requires.
  • Resolve Free, Intel Macs and Windows are not supported yet.
  • Resolve must already be installed. The installer checks for the Kodak 2383 print LUT that ships with it.

Install

  1. Save your project. Quit Resolve.

    Download the installer from your account. Open the disk image, then open MostGrade to install.

  2. Complete the installer.

    Follow the prompts and authorize with your Mac’s administrator account. The installer puts MostGrade in the OFX folder for you. It does not close Resolve.

  3. Start on the Color page.

    Restart Resolve. On the Color page, find MostGrade in Effects → OpenFX and add it to a node. Choose the input profile that matches your recording.

Updates use the same installer. Quit Resolve first and keep the notes that come with the download.

Activate

  1. Add MostGrade to a node.

    In DaVinci Resolve, open the Color page and add MostGrade to a node from Effects → OpenFX.

  2. Activate this Mac.

    In MostGrade open Licence → Activate or Manage Licence, then click Activate in browser and approve it on the page that opens.

  3. Finish.

    Keep MostGrade Activation open until it says “Activated on this Mac”, then reopen Resolve. If the browser approval times out after 10 minutes, click Activate in browser again.

One licence works on 2 Macs. Activation renews in the background and allows up to seven days offline. No footage or project data is sent.

Move to a new Mac

Deactivate the old Mac on the activation page, then install MostGrade on the new one and approve it.

Uninstall

  1. Deactivate.

    Open MostGrade Activation (in Applications) and choose Deactivate and Remove. Then quit it.

  2. Remove the plugin.

    Quit Resolve. Move /Library/OFX/Plugins/MostGrade.ofx.bundle and the MostGrade Activation app to the Trash.

To leave no stale state for a later fresh install, also move /Library/Application Support/MostGrade/Installer/installed.plist aside along with the plugin. Keep the Backups folder next to it for recovery.

Grades that use MostGrade will show a missing effect until you install it again. Not sure about a step? Email nihad@mostgrade.com to remove it cleanly.
